The Southern African Heads of Independent Schools Association (SAHISA)

I would like to welcome everyone to 2010. May it be an enjoyable and succeesful year for you all. In particular, may I warmly welcome all the new heads. I hope you will find in SAHISA an association that provides you with sufficient support and development opportunities.
All those of us who have been in the position for some time, I’m sure, would agree that we find it is really only other heads who understand the burdens of headship, and thus can provide real empathy, wisdom and hope when it is most needed.
I’m hoping it will be an exciting year for SAHISA. We have in September our annual ISASA/SAHISA Conference to look forward to. This event is a must and new heads are strongly urged to diarise this; it’s a wonderful opportunity to connect with other heads and be stimulated by some superb speakers.
I look forward to meeting you again or for the first time at conference or at the various SAHISA workshops. It’s also my intention to once again spend some time visiting schools away from the big cities. All invites gratefully received!
